Giving AI a unique personality and purpose
After the success of our first AI model, we knew we wanted to push the concept further. The first version had been an interactive proof of concept, but it lacked a deep understanding of who we were and what we stood for. Our second model set out to change that. This time, we weren’t just creating a chatbot — we were shaping an AI that could truly represent Szymdows in every conversation.
The key innovation in this version was fine-tuning. We gathered our own material: project descriptions, mission statements, technical documentation, and even snippets of casual internal conversations. This carefully curated dataset was designed to teach the AI more than facts — it was meant to teach it our voice, our goals, and our unique way of thinking. By exposing it to examples of how we communicate, we shaped it into something that felt far more personal and brand-aligned.
Fine-tuning wasn’t just about style; it also gave us control over accuracy and relevance. In the first model, responses could sometimes feel generic or slightly off-topic. Now, the AI had a better grasp of our context, meaning its answers were both more precise and more meaningful to our users. It could discuss our projects in detail, explain our philosophy, and respond with the kind of confidence that comes from genuine alignment with our work.
From a technical standpoint, this version was still based on an existing hosted model, but it now carried our identity. Visitors noticed the difference immediately. Conversations felt warmer, more engaging, and distinctly “Szymdows.” The AI was no longer just answering questions; it was building relationships with the people who interacted with it.
We also took the opportunity to experiment with tone and adaptability. We tested how the AI responded in formal scenarios versus casual chats, refining it so it could switch effortlessly depending on the situation. This flexibility made it far more versatile and laid the groundwork for the adaptive models we would later develop.
Looking back, the second model was our first real leap toward creating an AI that wasn’t just functional, but also truly ours. It was the moment we began to see AI not just as a tool, but as a partner in communication — one that could represent Szymdows with accuracy, warmth, and personality. This step was crucial, as it bridged the gap between our early experiments and the more advanced, custom-built systems that would follow.
